Annual Meeting
The 2005 Annual Meeting of the Mirror Lake Condominium Association was held on Thursday, November 17. The meeting was short on substance and long on protocol. The departing board of Homer Campbell, Bill Andrews and Karen Taylor did not provide a summary for the year nor allowed any questions, a fact that caused some residents to ask why they were in attendance. Other residents thanked the current board for the work performed.
New board members introduced were Carol Atsave, Cathy Noess, Julie Courson and Ted Volcheck; the latter two were still out of town. The new board is planning to have an organizational meeting within the prescribed period of time, a formality that after some confusion was accepted as being in accordance with the law.
The focus shifted to the acceptance or rejection of the proposed budget. The new board expressed their desire to delay a decision on the new budget until after additional homework could be done, with special focus on some confusion over the reserve fund. Amidst lengthier confusion as to the legality of postponing a decision, the proposed budget had to be rejected.
One resident left the meeting early voicing concern over the involvement of residents without voting rights in the meeting.
